Chef’s Insight

Don't forget to save some of the juice that collects at the bottom of the disposable pan, as it makes an excellent dipping sauce for your meal.

Notes

Be sure to use caution when handling the hot beer can and chicken during preparation and cooking.

Cultural or Historical Background

The concept of beer can chicken is said to have originated from a competition barbecue cook who used a can of beer to hold the chicken upright while grilling, leading to a moist and tender result.
