1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 hamburger buns
Coleslaw (store
bought or homemade)
Instructions
In a large pot or slow cooker, combine pork shoulder with apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook on low heat for 8 hours in the slow cooker or until tender.
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the pot or slow cooker and shred using two forks. Return the shredded meat to the liquid, stirring well to coat with the sauce.
Heat a grill or grill pan to medium high heat. Sear both sides of the BBQ pulled pork on the grill until slightly charred and crispy (optional).
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the oven for 3 5 minutes.
Assemble the sandwiches by adding a generous portion of the BBQ pulled pork, a scoop of coleslaw, and the top half of the bun.
Chefβs Insight
Allow the flavors to meld by marinating the pork overnight for added depth and richness.
Notes
For an even smokier flavor, try using a wood chip of your choice to add smoke while grilling.
