Ingredients

  • 16 oz. refrigerated pizza dough
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (we love a sweet and tangy Kansas City
  • style)
  • Optional toppings: cooked chicken, bacon, jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat (around 350°F).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough to fit your grill's cooking surface.
  3. In a pan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until golden brown and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  4. Place the rolled out pizza dough directly onto the preheated grill and cook for 3 4 minutes until it begins to puff up and form grill marks.
  5. Carefully flip the crust using a large spatula. Spread barbecue sauce evenly over the cooked side of the crust.
  6. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, caramelized onions, and your favorite optional toppings like chicken, bacon, or jalapeños.
  7. Cook for another 4 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a minute before slicing into squares. Serve hot.
