Ingredients
4 bone
in pork ribs 2 cups barbecue sauce (homemade or store
bought) 1 cup apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 1/4 cup molasses 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 1/4 cup Dijon mustard 1 tbsp paprika 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tbsp onion powder 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp ground black pepper Salt, to taste Freshly ground black pepper, to taste Wood chips (apple or hickory) for grilling
Instructions
Preheat your grill or smoker to medium high heat, around 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
Season the pork ribs with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Place the ribs on the preheated grill or smoker, and cook for 2 hours, basting occasionally with the barbecue sauce mixture.
After 2 hours, wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and continue to cook for another hour, until the meat is tender and pulls apart easily with a fork.
Unwrap the ribs from the foil and brush generously with the remaining barbecue sauce mixture. Cook for an additional 10 15 minutes, or until the ribs are slightly charred and glossy, allowing the sauce to caramelize.
Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Chef’s Insight
To enhance the smoky flavor, you can soak the wood chips in water for 30 minutes before using them on the grill.
