  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • 2 cups mixed greens
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, halved

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, half of the basil leaves, minced garlic, sriracha, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Mix well to incorporate all ingredients.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  3. Preheat grill or cast iron skillet to medium high heat. Add patties and cook for 4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached. Top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese during the last minute of cooking.
  4. Toast burger buns on the grill or in the skillet until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, topped with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and remaining basil leaves. Place the top half of the bun over the basil.
