Ingredients

  • 4 large brioche burger buns 8 ounces smoked Gouda cheese, sliced 1/2 cup Carnival Spice Mix 1 tablespoon garlic powder 4 beef patties, 80% lean ground beef 4 slices thick

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine all Carnival Spice Mix ingredients. Set aside.
  2. Divide the smoked Gouda cheese into 8 equal pieces.
  3. Form the ground beef into 4 patties and make a shallow indentation in the center of each patty. Season both sides of each patty with 1 tablespoon of Carnival Spice Mix, pressing the seasoning gently onto the meat.
  4. Preheat a grill or griddle to medium high heat. Cook bacon until crispy remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Place patties on the preheated grill or griddle and cook for 3 4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Gouda cheese on each patty to melt.
  6. Slice brioche burger buns in half and brush the insides with melted butter. Place cut side down on the grill or griddle for 1 2 minutes until lightly toasted.
  7. Assemble burgers: place a cooked patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun, followed by a layer of crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and the top half of the toasted bun.
  8. Serve immediately with a side of Carnival Fries (see recipe below).
