Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 tbsp CookJunkie's Tailgate Burger Seasoning (recipe below)
- 6 slices American cheese
- 6 hamburger buns, toasted
- Lettuce, tomato, and red onion, for garnish
- Pickles, for serving
- CookJunkie's Tailgate Burger Sauce (recipe below)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently mix together the ground beef and CookJunkie's Tailgate Burger Seasoning until well combined. Form the mixture into 6 equal sized patties.
- Preheat your grill or griddle to medium high heat. Cook the patties for 3 4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or griddle for 30 seconds to 1 minute per side.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a generous dollop of CookJunkie's Tailgate Burger Sauce. Top with the remaining half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with pickles on the side.
Chef’s Insight
Don't be afraid to customize these burgers to your taste! Add sliced jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, or caramelized onions for extra flavor.

The secret sauce can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
