Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket, trimmed
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • Salt, to taste
  • 12 slider buns, split
  • Coleslaw mix (prepared or homemade) Zesty Coleslaw:
  • 8 cups coleslaw mix
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, and salt. Mix well to create the brisket marinade.
  2. Place the beef brisket in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the brisket, massaging it into the meat. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill or smoker to 250°F (120°C). Remove the brisket from the marinade and place it on the grill, fat side up. Cook for 2 3 hours, basting with more marinade occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 205°F (96°C) for medium doneness.
  4. Wrap the brisket in aluminum foil and continue to cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 210°F (100°C). Remove from heat and let rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
  5. To prepare the coleslaw, combine the coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  6. Slice the rested brisket thinly against the grain. Warm the sliders buns on the grill or in the oven for 2 3 minutes.
  7. Assemble the sliders by placing sliced brisket on the bottom half of each bun, topping with zesty coleslaw, and adding the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
