Ingredients

  • 8 steamed buns (bao)
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 cups bean sprouts
  • 1 cup pickled daikon & carrots
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 4 hard
  • boiled eggs, halved
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp fish sauce
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground pork with hoisin sauce, sriracha (if using), fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated pork until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the Banh Mi & Pho Steam Bun Bowl by placing two steamed buns on each plate. Top with a generous portion of the cooked pork, bean sprouts, pickled daikon & carrots, cilantro, green onions, and half of a hard boiled egg.
