  • 1. 4 cups whole milk 2. 2 tbsp masala chai blend 3. 2 tsp cardamom pods, crushed 4. 1/2 cup sugar 5. 1/2 tsp saffron strands 6. 2 cups whipping cream 7. 1/4 cup cocoa powder 8. Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine milk, masala chai blend, cardamom pods and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. In a separate small bowl, steep saffron strands in 3 tablespoons of warm water for 5 minutes.
  3. Gradually whisk the cream into the milk mixture, then add the soaked saffron along with its infused water.
  4. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low and let it cook for about 10 12 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher. Discard the solids.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder with a little warm water to make a smooth paste.
  7. Stir this mixture into the strained milk until it's thoroughly combined.
  8. Pour the spiced milk into glasses and garnish each glass with chocolate shavings.
