Ingredients

  • 6 medium
  • sized freshly squeezed lime wedges (or 1/4 cup) 3 tablespoons of white sugar 1 cup of coconut water 1 cup of cachaça Ice 6 mint leaves for garnish Toasted coconut flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mortar and pestle, combine the lime wedges with white sugar. Muddle until the sugar is dissolved and the limes have released their juices.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of coconut water to the lime mixture in the mortar. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the lime sugar coconut water mixture, and pour the cachaça over it. Shake vigorously until chilled and combined.
  4. Strain the mixture into 6 glasses, filling each about halfway. Top each glass off with coconut water.
  5. Garnish with a mint leaf and toasted coconut flakes. Serve immediately.
