  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 1 large egg, beaten

  3. In another bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and walnuts. Mix well.
