Ingredients
1. 1 cup gluten
free all
purpose flour 2. 1/4 teaspoon salt 3. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 4. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 5. 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil 6. 1/2 cup sugar 7. 1/4 cup honey 8. 1/2 teaspoon orange zest 9. 1 large egg, room temperature 10. 1/3 cup whole milk, room temperature 11. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 12. Orange blossom water (optional) 13. Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten free all purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, sugar, and honey. Stir until well mixed.
Add the orange zest to the wet ingredients and mix well.
Add the egg to the wet ingredients and whisk until fully combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.
Stir in the milk and vanilla extract. If desired, add a few drops of orange blossom water for added aroma.
Pour the batter into a greased and parchment lined cake pan or springform pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve.
