Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almonds, soaked overnight
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup gluten

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 3 tablespoons almond milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the soaked almonds well. Add them to a food processor along with chickpeas, almond flour, all purpose gluten free flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Pulse until a smooth batter forms.
  2. Gradually add applesauce and almond milk into the batter, continuing to pulse until well combined.
  3. In a deep frying pan, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the pan. Fry for 2 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Remove the fritters from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
