  • 1. 1 lb lean ground beef 2. 1 cup chopped onion 3. 2 cups chopped mushrooms 4. 2 cups chopped cauliflower, raw 5. 6 tablespoons butter 6. 1/2 cup heavy cream 7. 1 teaspoon salt 8. 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 9. 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme 10. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 11. 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and mushrooms to the skillet with the cooked beef. Cook for 5 minutes or until softened.
  4. Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, thyme, and garlic powder. Stir well to combine.
  5. In a separate pot, cook the cauliflower florets in boiling water for 8 10 minutes or until tender. Drain well.
  6. Add butter and heavy cream to the cooked cauliflower. Mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Stir the beaten egg into the mashed cauliflower. Mix thoroughly.
  8. Transfer the beef mixture to a greased 9 inch pie dish, spreading evenly.
  9. Spread the cauliflower mash over the beef layer, sealing the edges.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and heated through. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
