Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. a. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). b. In a large bowl, mix together almond flour, melted coconut oil, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until a dough forms. c. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a 9 inch tart pan with a removable bottom. d. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool slightly. e. In a separate pan, heat coconut sugar and lemon juice over medium heat until the sugar melts and starts to caramelize. Add the sliced apples and cook until tender, stirring occasionally, about 5 7 minutes. f. Arrange the caramelized apples evenly on top of the crust. g. Return the tart to the oven and bake for an additional 20 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. h. Let cool completely before removing from the pan. Slice into 6 equal portions.
