A Delightful Symphony of Spices: Turkish Apple Pomegranate Delights
A delightful fusion of sweet and tart flavors, this easy-to-make dessert combines apples and pomegranates with warm spices, enveloped in flaky filo pastry. Perfect for a gathering or a cozy night at home.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine apple slices, pomegranate seeds, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Toss gently to coat evenly.
Place one sheet of filo pastry on the prepared baking sheet. Brush lightly with melted butter. Repeat with 5 more sheets, layering them in a stack and brushing each with butter.
Spoon the apple mixture along one long edge of the filo stack. Fold the short edges of the filo over the filling and roll tightly into a log shape. Transfer to the baking sheet, seam side down. Repeat with the remaining filo and apple mixture.
Bake for 20 25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oven and let cool slightly on a wire rack.
Dust with confectioner's sugar before serving.
