Cultural or Historical Background

The concept of the Christmas tree dates back to the 16th century in Germany, where families would decorate an evergreen tree in their homes as a symbol of the fresh green plants that remained vibrant during the dark winter months. The tradition was brought to America in the 19th century and has since evolved into the iconic holiday decoration we know today.
