  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease an 8 inch round baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the almond flour, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk, almond extract, and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined.
  4. Melt butter in the prepared baking pan in the oven for about 1 minute or until it's just melted.
  5. Remove the pan from the oven carefully and quickly pour the batter over the melted butter. Spread cherries evenly on top of the batter.
  6. Bake for 25 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into wedges. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
