Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs, separated 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 cup heavy whipping cream 1/4 cup Amaretto liqueur 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 30 ladyfingers

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar until pale and fluffy. Gradually whisk in heavy cream and Amaretto liqueur. Set aside. In another bowl, whip the egg whites to stiff peaks. Fold them into the cream mixture. Sprinkle cocoa powder over brewed espresso and stir until dissolved. Dip ladyfingers into the espresso mixture quickly, then layer them in a 9x13 inch dish. Spread half of the cream mixture over the soaked ladyfingers, then repeat with remaining ladyfingers and cream. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
