Ingredients

  • For Dough:
  • 2 cups all
  • purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar For Filling:
  • 5 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon all
  • purpose flour For Crumble:
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, milk, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In another bowl, toss the apple slices with granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and flour until well coated. Set aside. For the crumble, in a medium bowl, mix together rolled oats, almonds, brown sugar, cold cubed butter, cinnamon, and salt. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to create a coarse crumbly mixture. On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a large rectangle. Spread apple filling evenly over the dough, leaving a border around the edges. Sprinkle the cinnamon spiced almond crumble over the apples. Starting from one of the shorter ends, roll up the dough tightly to form a log shape. Pinch the edge to seal. Carefully transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 30 35 minutes until golden brown. Cool on wire rack. Slice and serve.
