Aromatic Chocolate Orange Mocktail
About This Recipe
A rich chocolate and orange mocktail made with almond milk, coconut cream, and fresh orange juice, served chilled for a refreshing non-alcoholic treat.
This recipe is inspired by traditional Spanish desserts and drinks that often feature chocolate and orange flavors.
Ingredients
- 2 cup almond milk
- 1 cup coconut cream
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 0.33 cup agave syrup
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 2 orange, zested and juiced
- orange slices, for garnish
Instructions
- 1
In a saucepan, combine almond milk, coconut cream, cocoa powder, and agave syrup over medium heat. Whisk until well combined.
- 2
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. Simmer for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened.
- 3
Remove from heat and add orange zest and juice. Stir well and let it steep for 10 minutes.
- 4
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher. Discard the solids.
- 5
Chill the mocktail in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until cold.
- 6
Serve in tall glasses garnished with orange slices.
Chef's Notes
For a warmer version, serve immediately after straining without chilling. Add a pinch of cinnamon or cayenne for extra depth.
Plating Tips
Serve in clear glasses to showcase the rich brown color. Garnish with a thin orange wheel on the rim and a light dusting of cocoa powder on top.
