  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices American cheese

  • 2 soft pretzel buns, split and toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently form each portion into a ball.
  3. Place one ball between two sheets of wax paper and smash it with your hand to form a 1/4 inch thick patty, seasoning both sides with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill or cook patties for about 3 minutes per side, until cooked to desired doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, add slices of American cheese on top of each patty to melt.
  6. While burgers are grilling, warm creamy poblano sauce in a small bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a smashed patty on the bottom half of each pretzel bun, followed by two slices of crisp bacon, the melted American cheese, and a generous spoonful of creamy poblano sauce. Top with the remaining half of the bun.
