purpose flour 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup water 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp lemon zest Cinnamon honey syrup: 3/4 cup honey 1 cup water 2 cinnamon sticks
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add water and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth. Whisk in lemon zest. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to rest the batter.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
Using a piping bag with a large round tip, pipe small balls of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat until all batter is used.
In a saucepan, combine honey, water, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 7 minutes or until slightly thickened. Strain syrup into a serving dish.
