Instructions
a. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and set aside. b. In a separate pot, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until translucent. c. Add the chopped kale to the pot with onions and cook until wilted, seasoning with salt and pepper. d. Once kale is cooked, add the smoked sausage to the pot and continue cooking for a few minutes until heated through. e. Mash the boiled potatoes with milk or cream, adding nutmeg if desired. Season with salt and pepper to taste. f. Serve the kale onion mixture on a plate, then top with the creamy mashed potatoes, slicing the sausage and arranging it over the dish.
