Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
- 1/2 cup limoncello liqueur
- Zest of 3 lemons
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar, and stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
- Stir in the lemon juice, limoncello liqueur, and lemon zest. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer safe dish and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes with a fork to prevent ice crystals from forming, until it reaches a slushy granita texture, about 3 4 hours.
