Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped Carolina Reaper pepper (fresh or dried)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and ground cumin until smooth.
- Add the chopped Carolina Reaper pepper and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to release the flavors.
- Slowly add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously to melt the cheese completely and incorporate it into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Once the queso is smooth and creamy, remove from heat and serve immediately with tortilla chips or raw vegetables for dipping.
