Ingredients

  • 6 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup fireball whiskey (or substitute with apple cider)
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup diced mango
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish, marinate chicken breasts in the fireball whiskey for at least 30 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even coating.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium high heat. Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Discard marinade. Season both sides of chicken with chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Grill chicken for 5 7 minutes per side or until cooked through. While the chicken is cooking, mix together barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, and lime juice in a small bowl.
  4. Once chicken is fully cooked, brush generously with the BBQ sauce mixture and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  5. Assemble tacos by placing a few slices of chicken in each tortilla, then top with feta cheese, cilantro, red onion, mango, and avocado slices. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
