Ingredients

  • 4 hot dogs
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 2 cups chili, homemade or store
  • bought
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons diced onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 8 slices of jalapeño, for garnish
  • 4 pickle spears, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Lightly brush hot dogs with water, then roll them in the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Grill hot dogs for 6 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and slightly charred. Remove from grill.
  5. Toast buns on the grill for 1 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Place each hot dog in a bun, top with chili, cheddar cheese, diced onions, and jalapeño slices. Serve with pickle spears.
