Ingredients

  • 2 lbs gluten
  • free chicken tenders 1/2 cup gluten
  • free soy sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar 1 tbsp minced garlic 1 tbsp grated ginger 1 tsp sesame oil 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional) 3 green onions, thinly sliced 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds For the Sesame Dipping Sauce: 1/2 cup gluten
  • free soy sauce 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tsp sesame oil 1/4 tsp black pepper 1 green onion, thinly sliced 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together gluten free soy sauce, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
  2. Add the chicken tenders to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Arrange the chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18 20 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the chicken is baking, prepare the sesame dipping sauce by whisking together gluten free soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, black pepper, sliced green onion, and toasted sesame seeds in a small bowl. Set aside.
  6. Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a serving platter, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve immediately with the sesame dipping sauce on the side.

Chef’s Insight

The key to perfect gluten-free Chinese BBQ chicken bites lies in marinating the chicken tenders and allowing them to soak up the flavors for at least 30 minutes. Baking ensures they remain tender and juicy, while the sesame dipping sauce adds a zesty punch to each bite.

Notes

For best results, use freshly grated ginger and minced garlic. Make sure to marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 4 hours.
