Ingredients

  • 8 sheets phyllo dough 1 cup unsalted butter, melted 1 cup slivered almonds 1 cup chopped walnuts 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 3/4 cup honey 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Brush the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish with some melted butter, and then layer 4 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with butter. Sprinkle half of the almonds and walnuts evenly over the top layer. Combine cinnamon, cloves, and sugar in a small bowl, and sprinkle half of the mixture on top of the nuts. Layer 4 more sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with butter, and top with the remaining almonds, walnuts, and spice sugar mixture. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
