Instructions

  1. a. In a medium saucepan, combine the almond milk, honey, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, star anise, and black peppercorns over medium heat. b. Gently simmer for 5 minutes, then add the loose leaf black tea and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to steep for another 3 4 minutes. c. Strain the chai mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract as much flavor as possible. Discard the solids. d. Pour the strained chai into glasses filled with ice and garnish each glass with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and a handful of almond flakes. Serve immediately.
