  • 14 oz firm tofu, sliced into 1/2
  • inch thick pieces 3 tbsp vegetable oil, divided 1 tsp sesame oil 6 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 cup low
  • sodium soy sauce 2 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar 1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp cornstarch 2 green onions, thinly sliced Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large non stick pan or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium high heat. Add the sliced tofu and cook until golden brown on both sides, approximately 4 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and sesame oil. Sauté the garlic until fragrant and lightly golden, about 30 seconds. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice wine vinegar, sugar, and cornstarch. Pour this mixture into the pan with the garlic and cook for 1 2 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  4. Return the cooked tofu to the pan and toss to coat in the garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 1 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions, and serve immediately.
