  • 1 cup pitted dates, soaked in warm water for 10 minutes
  • 1 cup raw almonds, soaked overnight
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped dates, to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain the soaked dates and place them in a food processor.
  2. Add the soaked almonds into the food processor with the dates.
  3. Process until a sticky dough forms.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut, chia seeds, ground flaxseed, orange zest, cinnamon, cardamom powder, and sea salt.
  5. Add the processed date and almond mixture to the dry ingredients, and mix well until combined.
  6. If using, fold in the chopped dates for an added texture.
  7. Roll the mixture into bite sized balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until firm.
