Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the grill or cast iron pan over medium high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place the patties onto the hot grill or pan and cook for 3 4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty to melt.
- Remove the burgers from the heat and let them rest for a minute.
- Toast the buns on the grill or pan for 30 seconds per side.
- Assemble the burgers by layering shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and a patty with melted cheese.
- Drizzle each burger with honey sriracha glaze and serve immediately.

To achieve that perfect charred crust, do not press down on the patties while cooking.
Notes
For a spicier burger, increase the amount of sriracha used in the glaze.
