Ingredients

  • 3. Marinated Beef Skewers 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar 3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste) 2 tablespoons sesame oil 1 teaspoon black pepper 12 wooden skewers 4. Spicy Chicken Wings 8 chicken wings, cut at the joints 1/2 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste) 3 tablespoons soy sauce 2 tablespoons honey 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon black pepper Green onions, chopped 5. Kimchi Fried Rice 4 cups cooked white rice 1 cup kimchi, roughly chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 cup green onions, chopped 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste) 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 egg, beaten Sesame oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. For the marinated beef skewers, in a large bowl, combine sliced beef, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, gochujang, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. Thread the marinated beef onto wooden skewers and set aside.
  2. Preheat your grill or griddle pan to high heat. Grill the skewers until they're cooked to your desired doneness, about 2 3 minutes per side. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. For the spicy chicken wings, in a large bowl, combine gochujang, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, black pepper, and green onions. Mix well. Toss the chicken wings in the sauce to coat evenly. Grill the wings until they're cooked through and slightly charred, about 12 15 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. For the kimchi fried rice, in a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium high heat. Add garlic, green onions, gochujang, soy sauce, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute. Add the cooked white rice and mix well. Push the rice to one side of the skillet or wok and pour in the beaten egg. Scramble the egg with the rice and mix everything together. Remove from heat and set aside.

Chef’s Insight

To add an extra layer of flavor, brush the grilled skewers with additional gochujang sauce just before serving
