1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine hot sauce, white vinegar, honey, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well and set aside.
Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
In a deep fryer or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken wings in batches for 8 10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Toss fried wings in the prepared sauce, coating evenly. Serve immediately with celery sticks and your favorite dipping sauce.
Chef’s Insight
The secret to crispy chicken wings lies in patting them dry and frying at a consistent temperature. Don't overcrowd the pot to ensure even cooking.
Notes
Adjust the level of spiciness to suit your taste by using more or less hot sauce and cayenne pepper.
