Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless pork shoulder
  • 1 cup Tennessee Whiskey
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine whiskey, barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Whisk until fully combined.
  2. Transfer the pork shoulder to a slow cooker and pour the whiskey BBQ sauce mixture over it. Cook on low for 6 8 hours or high for 3 4 hours, or until the meat is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
  3. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir well to combine with the sauce. Cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  4. Serve on slider buns with coleslaw and pickles.
