Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup BBQ Smokehouse Seasoning (see recipe below)
- 6 slices thick
- cut bacon
- 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
- 8 slices red onion
- 8 leaves romaine lettuce
- 4 tablespoons BBQ Smokehouse Sauce (see recipe below)
- 16 pickle chips
- 12 slices tomato
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium high heat and cook bacon until crisp, about 3 4 minutes per side. Remove from grill and set aside.
- Divide ground beef into three equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, making them slightly wider than your buns. Press a thumb into the center of each patty to create an indentation.
- Season patties generously on both sides with BBQ Smokehouse Seasoning and place on preheated grill. Cook until desired doneness, about 4 5 minutes per side for medium rare. Top each patty with a slice of cheese during the last minute of cooking.
- Assemble burgers: bottom bun, burger patty, bacon, red onion, lettuce, BBQ Smokehouse Sauce, pickle chips, tomato, and top bun. Repeat for remaining three burgers.
- Serve immediately with a side of crinkle cut fries and coleslaw.
Chef’s Insight
For an extra smoky flavor, soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before using them to grill the red onion slices.
Notes
For a spicy version, add BBQ Smokehouse Seasoning or Sauce to taste.
