Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 2 cups buttermilk 2 cups all
  • purpose flour 1 tbsp paprika 1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste) 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder Salt and black pepper, to taste Vegetable oil, for frying 8 slider buns, split and toasted 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened Pickles and coleslaw, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  2. In a separate shallow dish, combine flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess. Carefully lower chicken into hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 6 8 minutes per side. Remove and let drain on a wire rack.
  5. In a small bowl, combine hot sauce, butter, and optional brown sugar to create the Nashville hot sauce. Brush or pour over each piece of fried chicken.
  6. Assemble sliders by spreading softened butter on the toasted buns, layering the chicken pieces and topping with pickles and coleslaw.
